We’re excited to announce the next session of the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies free Knowledge Hub webinars: The Art and Craft of Writing Vivid, Authentic Settings, February 20, 12-1pm.

Always wanted to try your hand at creative writing, but haven’t known where to begin? Wondering if you might enjoy taking an Intro Creative Writing class? This focused session, led by an experienced instructor and published author Elizabeth Ruth, will answer those questions and more. Writing an authentic sense of place is fun and highly creative. Transporting readers and yourself to other places and times is exciting.

Meet Our Guest Speaker

Elizabeth Ruth

Elizabeth Ruth is the author of the novels, Semi-Detached, Matadora, Smoke, and Ten Good Seconds of Silence. Her poetry collection is titled, This Report Is Strictly Confidential. Elizabeth’s work has been recognized by the Writers’ Trust of Canada Fiction Prize, the City of Toronto Book Award, the Amazon.ca First Novel Award, and One Book One Community. CBC named her “One of the Ten Canadian Women Writers You Must Read.” She is also the author of a plain language novella for adult literacy learners entitled, Love You to Death and editor of the anthology, Bent on Writing: contemporary queer tales. Elizabeth Ruth holds a BA in English Literature, an MA in Counselling Psychology, and an MFA in Creative Writing. Insta: elizabethruthauthor. Website: elizabethruth.com
